There is hereby established the office of Tax Assessor of the Borough of Northvale, and such Tax Assessor shall be nominated by the Mayor subject to the confirmation of the Council pursuant to Chapter 128 of the Laws of 1978 (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146).
The Tax Assessor shall be qualified as set forth in Chapter 44 of the Laws of 1967 (N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.25), as the same may from time to time be amended.
The Tax Assessor shall hold office for a term of four years from the first day of July next following his appointment to said office.
The compensation of the Tax Assessor shall be determined by the governing body of the Borough of Northvale by ordinance duly adopted from time to time.
The Tax Assessor shall perform the duties required of the holder of such office pursuant to Title 54 of the New Jersey statutes and such regulations as may from time to time be promulgated by the New Jersey Division of Taxation and the Bergen County Board of Taxation.
