The purpose of this article is to ensure the
safety, comfort and convenience of the public in their use of Blais
Park and Walkway.
The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages
of any type is prohibited within the park.
Vehicles, motor scooters, motorcycles, minibikes,
snowmobiles, bicycles, roller blades and skateboarders are prohibited
from within the confines of Blais Park and Walkway, except in the
exercise of a governmental function or in case of a bona fide emergency.
No person shall operate any amplified device
within the park, with the exception of those performers and special
events licensed by the Village of Lake George.
All visitors must dispose of any containers,
paper products, or other disposables by depositing same in approved
trash receptacles. Throwing or depositing any articles of any type
into the lake is prohibited.
Swimming or wading from the shoreline of the
park or from the public docks or walkway is prohibited.
This park shall be for the peace and tranquility
of all users. Anyone disturbing the contents of the park, destroying
same or acting in a disturbing manner shall be deemed a disorderly
person and be subject to a penalty of $250.
Anyone altering, defacing, painting, damaging
or in any way altering the contents of the park shall be deemed a
disorderly person and be subject to a penalty of $250.
A.Â
Every violation of this article shall constitute an
offense, as defined by § 10.00 of the Penal Law of the State
of New York and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250.
B.Â
In addition to any other remedies or penalties that
may be imposed, a violation of this article shall entitle the Board
of Trustees to undertake a remedy to repair any damage caused by the
violation of any section or provision of this article, and the actual
disbursements and expenses therefore shall be added to the fine(s)
set forth in this article. This provision shall be in addition to
any other provisions, penalties or powers available to the Village
for enforcement of this article.
This article shall take effect immediately upon
the filing of this article with the Secretary of State of the State
of New York.
