The Council of the Borough of Tarentum does hereby adopt by reference the BOCA National Energy Conservation Code, Seventh Edition, 1993, as the Energy Conservation Code for the Borough of Tarentum, as though the same were more fully set forth in this chapter, establishing minimum requirements for energy conservation for all buildings and structures within the Borough of Tarentum.

Any reference within the code to a municipality shall be the "Borough of Tarentum"; any reference to a county shall be the "County of Allegheny"; and any references to the state shall be the "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."
Any permit required to be issued shall not be issued until a permit fee as set forth from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council is paid.
Any person violating any section of this chapter shall, upon summary conviction before the District Justice, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $300 and the costs of the proceeding for each violation of this chapter, said fine to accrue to the benefit of the Borough of Tarentum. Each day the violation exists shall be a separate violation. If any person so fined shall be in default of payment of such fine and costs, he shall be sentenced to imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days; provided, however, that such fine or imprisonment shall be in addition to any fee imposed by this chapter.
