A. 
Definitions. For purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
EXOTIC ANIMALS
Reptiles, ferrets, snakes, tropical birds, turtles, and any species of animal whose natural or usual habitat within the State of New York is either in the wild or in a zoo but which is being housed or sustained by a person.
B. 
Exception. This article shall not apply to licensed veterinarians or to hospitals operated by licensed veterinarians.
It shall be unlawful and a violation of this article for any person, corporation or other entity to do any of the following:
A. 
Permit or allow any exotic animal in their possession or control to run at large or to cause damage or destruction to property or to commit a nuisance upon the premises of a person other than the owner or person harboring the animal.
B. 
Permit or allow any exotic animal in their possession or control to engage in habitual howling or other noises so as to create a nuisance.
C. 
Permit or allow any exotic animal in their possession or control to chase, bite, snap at, jump upon, or otherwise harass or bother any person in such a manner as to reasonably cause intimidation or apprehension of bodily harm or injury.
D. 
Maintain or house exotic animals is such a manner or quantity as to be unsanitary or odor-bearing or unhealthy for the exotic animals involved.
E. 
Cause, permit or allow any exotic animal in their possession or control to be in any public area of the Village.
