Zoning — See Ch. 250.
Fences shall be subject to building permit procedures.
No fence in the Village shall be higher than six feet high.
Fences along front yards must not be over four feet in height. Solid wooden fences are not allowed.
Fences and walls up to six feet high along the property lines of the rear yard of residences may be allowed. Solid wood privacy fences are allowed.
In side yards, solid wood privacy fences are allowed. They shall not be over six feet high and must not extend beyond the midpoint of the building.
Fences on corner lots are subject to special conditions and must be consistent with the requirements of Chapter 250, Zoning. Plan for fencing should be presented to the Planning Board for design review.
Any person who violates any of the provisions of this article or fails to comply with any condition imposed pursuant to this article shall have committed a violation, punishable in accordance with Article I, General Penalty, of Chapter 1, General Provisions, of the Code of the Village of Athens.
