Village of Athens, NY Article V Speed Regulations

§ 220-8 Maximum speed limits designated.

A. Thirty miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed within the corporate limits of this Village.

B. Fifteen miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed within the corporate limits of this Village along the following highways:

C. Twenty-five miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed within the corporate limits of this Village along the following streets:[1]

§ 220-9 Applicable speed regulations.

All speed limits in the Village of Athens shall be as prescribed by the New York Department of Transportation pursuant to § 1643 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
