Village of LeRoy, NY Chapter 192 Trees and Shrubs

§ 192-1 Injuries to trees or plants on streets or in public places.

It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to cut, girdle, despoil or in any way willfully injure any shade or ornamental trees or shrub or plant or plants, grass or flowers in or upon any of the streets, avenues, alleys, parks or other public places in the Village of LeRoy.

§ 192-2 Attaching ropes or wires to trees or plants.

It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to attach any rope, wire or other contrivance to any tree or plant.

§ 192-3 Permission for cutting or trimming.

Before any tree upon any of the streets, avenues, alleys, highways or other public places in the Village of LeRoy shall be cut or trimmed by any person, permission shall first be obtained from the Board of Trustees of the Village of LeRoy.

§ 192-4 Penalties for offenses.

Any person or persons violating any of the terms or provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $100 and in addition shall also be required to pay for the replacement of any injured or removed tree or plant.
