The Town Board of the Town of Olive does hereby create the Conservation
Advisory Council of the Town of Olive.
Such Council shall consist of five members to be appointed by the Town
Board of the Town of Olive.
The Presiding Officer or Chairman of the Conservation Advisory Council
shall be designated by the Town Board of the Town of Olive from among those
persons appointed by the Council.
The Conservation Advisory Council of the Town of Olive, as its function,
shall advise the Town Board, Town Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals
of the Town of Olive in the promotion, development, management and protection
of its natural resources, and such Council shall engage in those functions
authorized by the provisions of General Municipal Law § 239-x.
The Conservation Advisory Council shall maintain an up-to-date inventory
or index of all open spaces in public or private ownership within the municipality,
including but not limited to natural landmarks, glacial and other geomorphic
or physiographic features; streams and their floodplains, swamps, marshlands
and other wetlands; unique biotic communities; scenic and other open areas
of natural or ecological value; and of the ownership, present use and proposed
use of such open areas, so as to provide a base of information for recommendations
by the Council for their preservation and/or use.
None of the expenses incurred by such Council shall be a charge upon
the taxable property of the Town of Olive unless there has been a specific
appropriation made therefor.
