No person shall engage in the business of refuse
collection and/or disposal and cesspool cleaning and/or disposal within
the Incorporated Village of Patchogue without first obtaining an annual
license therefor.
Each applicant for a license shall set forth in a sworn statement, in addition to any other information required by Chapter
255 of this Code, the following information:
A. The number, model, year of manufacture and license
of his vehicles.
B. The place where the vehicles will be stored or garaged
while not in use.
C. The place where the applicant will dispose of the
refuse or waste collected and the manner of disposal.
D. Proof of financial responsibility in the event of
damage to persons or property by reason of negligent operation of
his vehicles.

The license fee hereunder per vehicle for any
year or fraction thereof shall be as set from time to time by resolution
of the Board of Trustees.
The Mayor, in addition to the grounds set forth
in any other ordinance or local law, may refuse to issue a license
or may suspend a license already issued whenever, in his judgment,
the place used or selected for the storage of the vehicles, or the
vehicles themselves, or the place and manner used or selected for
the disposal of refuse or waste, is or will be detrimental to the
public health and safety.
Any person who violates this chapter or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in §
1-1 of the Code of the Village of Patchogue.
