GENERAL REFERENCES
Zoning — See Ch. 405.
The Mayor shall appoint two members of the Board of Appeals for a term of office of one year; two members for a term of office of two years; and one member for a term of office of three years.
The term of office of the successors of such members shall be three years.
Not more than three members of the Board of Appeals shall belong to the same political party.

All Zoning Board of Appeals members shall be required to attend a minimum of 10 meetings each year.

All Zoning Board of Appeals members shall be required to attend a minimum of two educational seminars during their three-year term and receive a stipend.
This chapter shall be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.

Pursuant to § 81(11)(a) of the New York General City Law, alternate Zoning Board of Appeals positions for the City of Kingston Zoning Board of Appeals are hereby established for use when a regular member cannot participate due to a conflict of interest.
Pursuant to the authority of the City of Kingston under the New York Municipal Home Rule Law, alternate Zoning Board of Appeals members may also serve in place of a regular member who is absent.
A. 
The first appointment shall be for a period of three years.
B. 
The second appointment shall be for a period of two years.
C. 
The third appointment shall be for a period of one year.
D. 
Thereafter, all appointments shall be for a period of three years.
Alternate members of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall be appointed by the Mayor.
The Mayor may appoint up to three alternate Zoning Board of Appeals members.
