The Building Inspector is hereby authorized
and empowered to make inspections in multiple dwellings and business
structures and so as to determine, among other things:
A.
Operating condition of:
(1)
Boilers and devices connected therewith.
(2)
Oil and/or gas burners and devices connected therewith.
(3)
Compactors and devices connected therewith.
(4)
Fire and safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers,
fire escapes and sprinkler systems.
(5)
Elevators and all apparatus used in connection therewith.
B.
Compliance with:
(1)
All pertinent provisions of this Code and any other
rules and regulations pertaining to the construction, maintenance
and occupancy of said structures.
(2)
Nassau County and/or Town of North Hempstead or Town
of Oyster Bay rules and regulations, insofar as the same are applicable
to buildings and structures in the Village.
A.
The Building Inspector is hereby authorized and empowered
to demand, and any owner, lessee or other person in charge of any
multiple dwelling or business structure shall furnish, a separate
written inspection report or certificate, issued by a duly qualified
person on behalf of the owner, lessee or other person in charge of
the aforesaid structure, certifying to the condition of the items
of equipment described above and contained therein, which said report
or certificate shall be filed with the Building Inspector within 30
days after such inspection of said structure. In any event, separate
written inspection reports or certificates shall be filed with the
Building Inspector between June 1 and July 1 of each year, on an annual
basis.
B.
The Building Inspector is authorized and empowered
to make or cause to be made, at any time, inspections of said buildings
and structures for the purpose of certifying the accuracy of the inspection
reports and certificates.
