The owner, occupant or tenant of any real estate
in Upper Southampton Township fronting upon or alongside of any of
the streets of the said Township is hereby required to remove, or
cause to be removed, from the sidewalks in front of or alongside of
said real estate all accumulations of snow, ice or sleet having fallen
or formed thereon within 24 hours after the same shall have ceased
to fall or to form.
None of the snow, ice or sleet to be removed
from the sidewalks as aforesaid shall be thrown or deposited in any
manner onto any street, road or highway of the Township, or piled
or deposited onto such street, road or highway in such manner as to
obstruct the visibility of pedestrians or drivers of motor vehicles.
The following persons shall be responsible for
conforming to the requirements of this article:
A. The owner, where such real estate is occupied by the
owner or is unoccupied or consists of vacant ground.
B. The tenant or occupant, where such real estate is
occupied by a tenant or occupant only.
C. The owner, where such real estate is a multiple business
or multiple dwelling property and is occupied by more than one tenant
or occupant.

Any violation of this article shall be enforced
by action brought before a District Justice in the same manner provided
for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules
of Criminal Procedure. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate
any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced
to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 and/or to imprisonment for a
term not to exceed 10 days. Each day that a violation of this article
continues, or each section of this article which shall be found to
have been violated, shall constitute a separate offense. For purposes
of this section, the doing of any act or thing prohibited by any provision
of this article, or the failure to do any act or thing as to which
any provision of this article creates an affirmative duty, shall constitute
a violation of this article punishable as herein stated.
