No person shall conduct or operate any of the following businesses within the Village except as hereinafter provided in this article:
A. 
Bowling alley, shooting gallery, poolroom and billiard parlor.
B. 
Circus, carnival, fireworks display, menagerie, temporary exhibition for profit of natural or artificial curiosities or similar attractions, theatrical presentation of a floor show held in any place where intoxicating beverages are sold at retail.
C. 
Motion-picture theater. The capacity for motion-picture theaters shall be determined by the Public Building Inspector and the Fire Marshal and such maximum capacity shall be prominently posted therein.
D. 
Miniature golf course and similar entertainment or amusement centers where an admission fee or other fee is charged to use the facilities.
A. 
Any person desiring a license to pursue any business hereinabove mentioned shall file a written application therefor in the Village Clerk's Office which shall state:
(1) 
The name and address of the applicant.
(2) 
The period of time for which such license is required.
(3) 
The kind and character of the business to be conducted.
(4) 
The place where the business is to be conducted.
(5) 
Any other additional information that the Licensing Officer may require.
B. 
Upon approval by the Licensing Officer and payment of the fee therefor as hereinafter prescribed, the Licensing Officer shall issue a license for the conduct or operation of such business, which license shall state the business to be conducted, the place of operation and the time or period during which it shall be valid, and such other information as the Licensing Officer may prescribe.
C. 
Before a license is issued for a circus, carnival or fireworks display, the Fire Marshal shall be notified and approval obtained from the Fire Marshal.
The following fees for the conduct or operation of the above-mentioned businesses shall be as follows:
A. 
Bowling alley, poolroom and billiard parlor: $10 for each alley or table.
B. 
Shooting gallery: $25 per year or $5 per day.
C. 
Circus: $75 per day.
D. 
Carnival and menagerie: $100 per day.
E. 
Temporary exhibition for profit of natural or artificial curiosities or similar attractions: $10 per day.
F. 
Theatrical presentation of a floor show held in any place where intoxicating beverages are sold at retail: $75 per year.
G. 
Motion-picture theaters: $50 per year.
H. 
Miniature golf course, and similar entertainment or amusement centers: $25 per year.
For any license issued on an annual basis, the fee for any license issued on or after December 1 in any year shall be 1/2 of the above-mentioned rates.
All licenses issued under this article shall expire on May 31 after date of issue, except that all short-term licenses shall expire on the date specified.
Licenses issued under the provisions of this article may be suspended and/or revoked in the manner provided by law.
