This article shall be known as the "Pompey Winter No Parking
Law."
This article is adopted pursuant to § 1660, Subdivision
(a)18, of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
This article shall be applicable to all highways within the
boundaries of the Town of Pompey, except U.S. Route 20 and New York
State Routes 91 and 92.
It shall be unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle
or trailer, as those terms are defined in the Vehicle and Traffic
Law, on or within the confines of any road, street, alley, lane, highway
or avenue within the Town of Pompey at any time between November 1
and April 1.
Notwithstanding the provisions of §
157-27, it shall not be unlawful to park a motor vehicle on such roads during such times where:
A. Such parking is done in compliance with the lawful order of a police
officer.
B. Such parking is the result of a bona fide emergency; then, in such
event, such vehicle shall remain on such road for no longer than 24
hours.
This article shall be enforced by any police officer recognized
by the State of New York as having the power to issue tickets for
traffic infractions.
