As used herein, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES
All motor vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, buses, tractors and all other motor-driven implements, which shall have had removed from them the license plates and/or renewal stickers for the then current registration period or which shall have been left unattended with the intent to abandon.
GARBAGE
Waste food, waste paper materials, dead animals, or parts thereof, and all other waste organic matter.
JUNKED MOTOR VEHICLES
All motor vehicles which have been partially or wholly dismantled, disassembled or destroyed.
PERSON
An individual, association, copartnership or corporation; the singular number shall include the plural.
REFUSE
All solid and liquid waste, metal, tin, cans, paper containers, debris, fill, ashes, cinders, glass and pottery, and including junked or abandoned motor vehicles, petroleum and chemical products and compounds.
SUPERVISOR
The Supervisor of the Town of Tuxedo.
TOWN
The Town of Tuxedo.
TOWN BOARD
The Town Board of the Town of Tuxedo.
A. 
No person shall throw, dump, discard, deposit or cause to be thrown, dumped, discarded or deposited any refuse, rubbish, garbage or other waste materials, including junked or abandoned motor vehicles, or parts thereof, upon any public highway, street, public property or private property within the Town of Tuxedo, except as such places as heretofore or hereafter shall have been designated as public dumping grounds pursuant to law.
B. 
Nothing contained herein shall prohibit a person from keeping or causing to be kept on premises owned or leased and occupied by such person not more than one motor vehicle, or the parts thereof, which vehicle, except for this subsection, would be deemed an abandoned or junked vehicle.
C. 
The Supervisor of the Town or a member of the Town Board, or other employee of the Town appointed by the Supervisor, may contract with any individual, copartnership or corporation for the removal of such refuse, rubbish, garbage or junked or abandoned motor vehicles to the nearest public dumping ground, and the costs charged to the Town for such removal, together with any dumping fees, shall be added to the penalties imposed upon a conviction for a violation of this article.

Any person committing an offense against any provision of this article, shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a violation and, pursuant to the authority in the Penal Law of the State of New York, § 80.05(4), punishable by a fine not exceeding $5,000 or by imprisonment for not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The continuation of an offense shall constitute, for each day the offense is continued, a separate and distinct violation.
