A.
Generally. The Mayor shall, subject to the approval
of the Board of Trustees including the Mayor, appoint a Plumbing Inspector
who shall be a master plumber. In addition to those duties which are
prescribed by other provisions of this Municipal Code, the Plumbing
Inspector shall inspect the construction and alteration of all plumbing
work performed in the village for the sole purpose of ascertaining
whether such work complies with the State Uniform Fire Prevention
and Building Code applicable to plumbing and the provisions of this
chapter and keep a report, in writing, of the results of such inspections.

B.
Permits and certificates. The Plumbing Inspector shall
issue all permits and other certificates required in connection with
the plumbing work and shall file regular reports with the Board of
Trustees and the Board of Public Safety of all permits, certificates
and other authorizations that he or she may issue. Such reports shall
be filed at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
C.
Inspection. The Plumbing Inspector shall, as soon
as possible after being notified (on the form provided), make the
necessary inspections as required by this chapter.
During the absence, disqualification or other disability to act of the Plumbing Inspector, an Assistant Plumbing Inspector holding temporary appointment shall be named by the Mayor as provided in § 161-15 and shall serve during such disability.
In no case shall the Plumbing Inspector or an
assistant inspector inspect work done by himself or herself or under
his or her management.
The Plumbing Inspector, in the discharge of
his or her duties, shall have the authority to enter any building,
structure or premises at any reasonable hour.
