[Amended 7-19-1999 by L.L. No. 1-1999]
No building or structure shall be moved upon
any street or streets of the Village of Williston Park unless the
Board of Trustees shall grant a written permit for such removal. No
such permit shall be granted except at a meeting of said Board of
Trustees and upon the written application of the owner of such building
or structure stating the route upon which the building is to be moved
and the size of the building or structure. Such permit may be granted
upon such conditions as to said Board of Trustees shall seem proper,
and such moving shall be under the supervision of the Village officer
designated by the Board of Trustees.
The owner or person, at the time of obtaining
such permit from the Board of Trustees, shall deposit with the Village
Clerk the sum of $1,000 in cash, to be held by said Village for a
period of 30 days after the building or structure has been delivered
to the place where it is to be moved, to be held as a deposit to cover
any damages caused by the owner or contractor in the moving of such
building or structure. In addition thereto, the Board of Trustees
may require the owner or his or her contractor to obtain a public
liability insurance policy for personal injury and property damage
in such amounts as it deems necessary to adequately protect the public
and to file with the Village Clerk a certificate of insurance, cancelable
only on 10 days' written notice, issued by an insurance carrier licensed
to do business in the State of New York and which policy shall be
approved by the Village Attorney as to form prior to issuance of the
permit.
