§ 219-4 Traffic control signals.

Except as provided in this section, all traffic control signals in the Village of Williston Park are under the jurisdiction of Nassau County and the State of New York. Traffic control signals shall be installed, maintained and operated at the intersection of Willis Avenue with Sheridan Avenue as follows:

Automatic.

(1)

A three-section, three-face signal head facing north and south on Willis Avenue and east on Sheridan Avenue.

(2)

Flasher: a single-section, single-face signal head facing north on Willis Avenue.

(3)

Flasher: a single-section, double-face signal head facing south on Willis Avenue and east on Sheridan Avenue.

Sequence of operations.

(1)

Normal operation.

(a)

All signals flash amber for northbound and southbound traffic on Willis Avenue.

(b)

All signals flash red for westbound traffic on Sheridan Avenue.

(2)

Fire conditions, activated by pulling by hand the traffic control signal cord at Fire Department headquarters.

(a)

Signals for southbound traffic on Willis Avenue change to steady green.

(b)

Signals for northbound traffic on Willis Avenue change to steady red.

(c)

Signals for westbound traffic on Sheridan Avenue change to steady red.

(d)

Return to normal operation after three-minute delay.

§ 219-5 One-way streets.

The following streets shall be designated as one-way streets:

Lafayette Street	From Willis Avenue to Park Avenue in an easterly direction Sundays only from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Meagher Place	From Willis Avenue to Cross Street in an easterly direction
Pembroke Street	From Willis Avenue to Park Avenue in a westerly direction Sundays only from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pennsylvania Avenue	From Hillside Avenue to Sheridan Avenue in a southerly direction
Remsen Street [Repealed 2-22-1983 by T.O. No. 1-83]
Winthrop Street	From Cross Street to Willis Avenue in a westerly direction Sundays only from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

§ 219-6 Turning movements.

There shall be no left turn coming out of Hawthorne Street onto Willis Avenue.

There shall be no left turn coming out of the curb cut at 2 Hillside Avenue onto Hillside Avenue.

There shall be no left turn coming out of the curb cut at 192 Hillside Avenue onto Hillside Avenue.

There shall be no right turn on red off Pembroke Street, on school days only from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the intersection of Willis Avenue.

There shall be no right turn on red off Winthrop Street, on school days only from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the intersection of Willis Avenue.

There shall be no left turn off Meagher Place onto Cross Street on school days only from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

§ 219-7 Limited street closings.

During school days the following designated streets shall be closed to all vehicular traffic between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.: Dover Place.

On Pembroke Street there shall be no through traffic on school days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
