The number of members of the Lancaster Township Planning Commission is hereby increased from five to seven members pursuant to the Act of July 31, 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247, Article II, § 201, as amended, 53 P.S. § 10201.[1]

Each member of the Planning Commission shall be appointed for a term of office of four years or until his successor is appointed and qualified, except that the terms of the members first appointed after the adoption of this chapter shall be fixed as follows: one member shall be appointed for a term of one year, two members shall be appointed for a term of two years, two members shall be appointed for a term of three years and two members shall be appointed for a term of four years, to be established on a series of overlapping terms, with no more than two terms expiring each year.
The terms of members of the existing Planning Commission which were established under the preceding ordinance of May 1, 1961, are hereby vacated, to the extent that they are not in compliance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code[1] or the provisions of § 48-2 of this chapter, and said members shall be reappointed to terms which conform with the provisions of this chapter.
