This chapter regulates subdivision and land
development within the Township of Lehigh, Northampton County, Pennsylvania,
for the purpose of providing the following:
A.
Orderly future growth and development of the Township.
B.
Protection and promotion of the safety, health, welfare
and convenience of the general citizenry.
C.
Optimization of the natural and fiscal resources of
the Township.
D.
Minimization of immediate and long range predictable
problems endemic to change in land use.
E.
Conservation and protection of natural resources.
This chapter is enacted pursuant to the Pennsylvania
Municipalities Planning Code,[1] as amended, and may be cited as the "Lehigh Township Subdivision
and Land Development Ordinance."

This chapter shall apply in the following circumstances:
A.
To all subdivision and/or land development plans submitted
after the effective date of this chapter.
B.
To all subdivision and land development plans previously
approved in accordance with any prior law or regulation, subject to
the restrictions and limitations contained in the Pennsylvania Municipalities
Planning Code, as amended.
This chapter incorporates by reference or without
reference any ordinances, rules or regulations, now in being or hereafter
ordained, created, adopted or promulgated, the content or part of
which thereof can be reasonably interpreted to apply to the subject
matter of this chapter, provided, however, in the event of a conflict
between the terms of this chapter, and any other ordinance, rule or
regulation, then the ordinance, rule or regulation providing for the
greatest burden on the owner, user, developer or person relative to
the use of the land shall prevail.
