There shall be a local Board of Health established in and for the Borough of Runnemede in accordance with the provisions of the act of the Legislature of the State of New Jersey entitled "An Act to Establish in This State Boards of Health and a Bureau of Vital Statistics, and to Define Their Respective Powers and Duties," approved March 31, 1887 (N.J.S.A. 26:3-1 et seq.), and the several acts supplementary and amendatory thereto.

The said local Board of Health shall consist of five members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council. Of the first members of the Board appointed as herein provided, two members so appointed shall be appointed for the term of one year, two for the term of two years, and two for the term of three years; and thereafter members of said Board of Health shall hold office for terms of three years. If any vacancy occurs in the said Board of Health by the death, resignation or inability of any member to serve, or from any other cause, the appointment to fill such vacancy shall be made in the same manner in which the original appointments are to be made but for the unexpired term only.
Said local Board of Health shall elect a President from among its members and shall adopt rules and regulations for its government.[1]

The term of office of such local Registrar shall be three years and until his successor has been appointed and qualified, and any vacancy occurring in such office shall be filed for the unexpired term only.
All appointees of said Board shall be governed by the rules of said Board and be subject to all laws, rules and regulations governing such officers, and they may be removed for cause by said Board.
The Sanitary Inspector shall promptly report to the local Board of Health every violation of the Health Ordinance of the Borough coming to his view or knowledge, and the Marshals of the Borough when on police duty shall serve as special Sanitary Inspectors.
