A. 
The office of Chief of Police of the Village of Fishkill is hereby abolished.
B. 
The office of the Police Commissioner for the Village of Fishkill is hereby established. Such Commissioner shall be the head of the Village Police Department, subject, however, to the statutory supervision of the Mayor pursuant to § 4-400, Subdivision 1 (e) of the New York State Village Law.
Except as limited herein or by further action of the Board of Trustees, all of the functions, powers and duties previously performed by or vested in the Chief of Police of the Village are assigned to the Police Commissioner.
The office of Police Commissioner, as herein established, shall be a part-time position, and the incumbent thereof shall work no more than 50% of the hours from prescribed, time to time, as a normal workweek by the Board of Trustees.
