2A, of the 1984 Code]
The Board of Supervisors resolves that this
Township become a participant in the social security system and that
the benefits of Old Age and Survivors Insurance be extended to its
employees and officers.
The Board of Supervisors of the Township of
West Hempfield is authorized to execute and deliver to the Secretary
of Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the state
agency charged with the administration of the Enabling Act, the plan
and agreement required under the provisions of Section 6 of the Enabling
Act and the Social Security Act, to extend coverage to the employees
and officers of this Township and to do all other things necessary
to that end.
The Township Treasurer is hereby authorized
to make all required payments into the Contribution Fund established
by Section 7 of the Enabling Act and to establish such system of payroll
deductions from salaries of officers and employees as may be necessary
to their coverage under said Old Age and Survivors Insurance System.
The Board of Supervisors hereby appropriates
from the proper fund or funds of the Township the amounts necessary
to pay into the Contribution Fund as provided in Section 4 of the
Enabling Act and in accordance with the plan or plans and agreement.[1]
