The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Meriden,
1966, as amended, and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances
of said City in conflict with this chapter, to the extent of such
conflict and no further, are hereby repealed, provided that nothing
herein contained shall be deemed to repeal or amend any ordinance
of said City requiring a permit or license, or both, to carry on any
business, trade or occupation.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this chapter is for any reason held by a court of competent
jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this chapter. The City Council hereby
declares that it would have passed this chapter and each section,
subsection, sentence, clause and phrase hereof irrespective of the
fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses
or phrases are declared invalid.
The effective date of this chapter shall be
July 7, 1983.
