The Trappe Fire Company No. 1 is recognized by the Borough as the official fire protection unit for the Borough.
In addition to actually fighting fires or while engaged in going to or returning from any fire, the members of the Fire Company recognized by the Borough are authorized to do the following things:
A. 
Answer any type of fire alarm call, whether general alarm, private call or investigation of fire report or emergency call of any type, inside or without the Borough;
B. 
Engage in any type of drill, training, ceremonial, practice, test or parade when duly called or authorized by a proper officer or officers of the Fire Company;
C. 
Engage in fund-raising activities for the Fire Company, when authorized by a proper officer or officers of the Fire Company;
D. 
Engage in the performance of any other duty or activity authorized by any officer of the recognized Fire Department.
The Trappe Fire Company No. 1, a volunteer fire company, duly organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, situated in the Borough of Trappe, is authorized by Borough Council, through its membership, to perform the following duties in addition to the normal firefighting, rescue and emergency medical duties:
A. 
Participation in drills, practices, training sessions and pre-fire planning activities as authorized by Fire Chief and supervised by a qualified instructor or an officer of the Trappe Fire Company No. 1.
B. 
Participation in community celebrations, ceremonial observances and funerals for deceased fire fighters or other public figures where such attendance is deemed appropriate by the officials of the Trappe Fire Company No. 1.
C. 
Performing such duties necessary to prepare the fire station for use as a distribution center or polling place for the primary and general elections, including performing like services at other municipal or school district buildings.
D. 
Preparation for and responsible participation in parades, providing that attendance has the prior approval of the officials of the Trappe Fire Company No. 1.
E. 
Performing any public functions for the welfare of the community, including the recovery of animals, so long as these activities are reasonably supervised and are sanctioned by the officers and members of the Trappe Fire Company No. 1.
F. 
Performing any and all public safety activities undertaken by the Trappe Fire Company No. 1 members to render care to the injured, prevent loss of life, provide comfort and security to victims, and limit or prevent damage to or loss of property as circumstances may dictate.
G. 
Rendering assistance to police officers where such aid is specifically requested or is done without request in order to protect the public welfare from imminent danger, including fire/police duties.
H. 
Participating in fire prevention activities, post-fire investigations, bomb searches, evacuation drills and fire lane enforcement.
I. 
Participating in public programs to promote health and safety, enlisting new members, soliciting community support, or conducting fund-raising activities so long as no compensation is being paid to the membership while engaged in the fund-raising activity, and all of such proceeds go to the Fire Company and so long as each activity is authorized by the Fire Company.
J. 
Performing safely and responsibly maintenance and remodeling on the Fire Company's vehicles, buildings, grounds, equipment or other property.
K. 
Engaging and performing such other duties necessary for the efficient operation of the volunteer services as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Borough Council and the officers of the Fire Company, and as may be defined within the constitution and bylaws of the Trappe Fire Company No. 1.
