Quarterly payments are payable on the due date at the Sewer Department in the Borough. The failure of the Borough to bill for such charge shall not relieve the owner of the unit of the obligation to pay such charge as herein provided. The annual service charge, to the extent that any part thereof is unpaid, shall draw the same interest as taxes upon real property in the Borough, commencing from the date the service charge, or any part thereof, becomes due and shall be a lien upon the land and buildings thereon connected to the system until paid, and the Borough shall have the same remedies for the collection thereof, with interest, costs and penalties, as it has by law for the collection of taxes on real property.
[Amended 11-10-1994 by Ord. No. 94-12]
In addition to the annual service charge, a fee for the lateral installation to the system shall be made at a rate of $500 for a standard six-inch lateral connection, with a base distance of 25 feet. Any distances greater than the base charge will require an added cost to be determined prior to installation. This charge shall be waived for all property owners who connect to the system by March 1, 1995.
It will be the financial responsibility of each property owner to provide maintenance service for any problems that may develop with the sewer line connecting each structure to the sewer system.
