No person shall operate or move or cause or knowingly permit to be operated or moved on Centre Island Road or Seawanhaka Road any vehicle or combination of vehicles exceeding 50,000 laden pounds without first filing a certificate of registration with the Village and agreeing to assume liability for any and all damages to Village roads resulting from the use of such vehicle. Prima facie evidence of such weight shall be that weight indicated on the state vehicle certificate of registration.
The Village of Centre Island will require a certificate of registration be filed to operate or move a vehicle or a combination of vehicles, the weight of which exceeds the limitation specified herein. The registrant shall exhibit suitable evidence of the name and address of the vehicle owner and operator and the name, address, policy number and policy limits of the owner and operator's insurance carrier. Such insurance policy limits shall be not less than $50,000/$100,000 protective liability and $50,000 for property damage. Any certificate of registration issued shall be revocable by the Village of Centre Island at any time at its discretion without a hearing.

A violation of any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
