The City Manager is authorized to name special
constables in such number and with such qualifications, accreditation
or certification as he may determine necessary, for terms not to exceed
two years.

Pursuant to the Connecticut General Statutes,
§ 9-185, the City Manager is authorized to appoint not more
than seven constables in lieu of constables to be elected under the
Connecticut General Statutes, § 9-200. Such constables may
be appointed for one-year terms and shall have powers and duties as
prescribed by the Connecticut General Statutes.
