For purposes of this chapter the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
LASER POINTING DEVICE
Any hand-held device which emits light amplified by the stimulated emission of radiation which is visible to the human eye.
It shall be unlawful for any person to focus, point or shine a laser beam directly or indirectly on another person or animal.
No person, firm or corporation within the City of Meriden shall sell to a consumer under the age of 18 years any laser pointing device.
No person, firm or corporation within the City of Meriden engaged in the sale of laser pointing devices shall store or display laser pointing devices unless such items are contained within a sealed and locked case or are located behind the service counter or in any other manner which restricts direct access to laser pointing devices by his or its customers and/or the general public.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $99.
