A municipal court for the Borough of Atlantic Highlands is established
as of February 1, 1949, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1
et seq., as amended and supplemented.
The name of the court shall be the "Municipal Court of the Borough
of Atlantic Highlands".
The Municipal Court shall have a seal which shall bear the impress
of the name of the Court.
The Municipal Court and the Judge thereof shall have, possess
and exercise all the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred
by the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., as amended and supplemented,
or by any other law.
There shall be a Judge of the Court who shall be appointed by
the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, who shall serve
for a term of three years from the date of their appointment and until
their successor is appointed and qualified.
There shall be a Municipal Court Administrator who shall serve
for a term of three years from the date of their appointment and until
their successor is appointed and qualified. The Court Administrator
shall perform such functions and duties as are prescribed by law,
the rules of the courts and the Judge.
The Municipal Court shall be held in the Municipal Building
of the Borough of Atlantic Highlands at such times as the business
of the Court may require, subject to the rules applicable to Municipal
Courts.
