Pursuant to § 8902, Chapter 89, Title 42, of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, the Upper Merion Township Police shall be required to draft and adopt guidelines to be followed by police officers which prescribe policies and procedures for effecting a warrantless arrest pursuant to § 42-2 herein.
The Upper Merion Township Police shall be authorized to effect a warrantless arrest for any individual committing any of the following offenses under Title 18 (relating to crimes and offenses) when such conduct constitutes a summary offense and such ongoing conduct imperils the personal security of another person or endangers public or private property:
A. 
18 Pa.C.S.A. § 5503 (relating to disorderly conduct).
B. 
18 Pa.C.S.A. § 5505 (relating to public drunkenness).
C. 
18 Pa.C.S.A. § 5507 (relating to obstructing highways and other public passages).
D. 
18 Pa.C.S.A. § 6308 (relating to the purchase, consumption, possession, or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages).
Any arrest made pursuant to the authority granted under this article shall proceed in accordance with the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, §§ 440 and 441, Chapter 4, Part D(2), "Procedures in Summary Cases: Arrests Without a Warrant."
