The owner or tenant of lands lying within the
Borough of Atlantic Highlands shall keep all brush, hedges and other
plant life growing within 10 feet of any roadway, cut to a height
of not more than 2 1/2 feet, where it shall be necessary and expedient
for the preservation of the public safety, within 10 days after notice
to cut the same.
In the event the owner or tenant shall refuse
or neglect to cut the same within 10 days after notice to said owner
or tenant, said brush, hedges and other plant life may be cut under
the direction of the Street Department of the Borough of Atlantic
Highlands.
The cost of cutting the said brush, hedges and
other plant life by the Street Department of the Borough of Atlantic
Highlands shall be certified by said Department to the Mayor and Council
and after examination said cost shall be charged against said lands
and shall become a lien upon such lands and be added to and become
and form part of the taxes next to be assessed and levied upon such
lands and shall bear interest at the rate of other taxes, and collected
and enforced in the same manner.

Any person or persons violating the terms of this article, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter
1, Article
II, General Penalty.
