The Chief Financial Officer of the Township shall be appointed
by the Township Committee.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be responsible for the financial
administration of the Township and for the Township's conformance
with all fiscal requirements of the State of New Jersey.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be a certified municipal financial
officer and shall not be a member of the Township Committee.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be subject to annual appointment
until said officer has served five consecutive years, at the termination
of which, said incumbent shall be deemed to have acquired tenure and
may thereafter be removed only for cause.
In the event of a vacancy in the office of Chief Financial Officer,
the Township Committee may appoint a person who is not certified as
a municipal finance officer, but such person shall not receive more
than two twelve-month appointments.
