Whenever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the
meaning respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle I of Title 39 of
the New Jersey Statutes Annotated shall be deemed to apply to such
words and phrases used herein.
All former traffic ordinances of the Borough of Riverdale are
hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent
the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed
in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking
effect of this chapter.

A.
Any person violating any parking restriction in this chapter, except
handicapped parking, shall be subject to a fine of $30 and costs of
$24.
B.
Any person convicted of a violation of handicapped parking restrictions
shall be subject to a fine of $250 for the first offense. For any
subsequent violation of this subsection, a fine of at least $250 and
up to 90 days' community service, or any combination thereof,
shall be imposed.
C.
Any person violating the truck route requirements (§ 160-15) shall be subject to a fine of $165 and costs of $24.
D.
Any person violating the low-speed vehicle on municipal streets prohibition
shall be subject to a fine of $30 and costs of $24.
E.
Any person convicted of a violation of any other section of this
chapter, unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey
statute, shall be liable to a penalty of not more than $250 or imprisonment
for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
