In addition to all other provisions of this Public Health Code which relate to standards for public toilet facilities, all comfort stations and toilet facilities made available to the public or to patrons of establishments shall comply with the requirements of this chapter.
The pressure and volume of water shall be sufficient to ensure effective flushing of toilets and urinals; all plumbing fixtures shall be installed as required by law and maintained in working order at all times.
All toilets and urinals shall be located in well-lighted and well-ventilated rooms for each of the sexes and shall be conveniently accessible to approved hand-washing facilities supplying hot and cold running water.
The lavatory shall be composed of vitreous or other approved material, the surface of which is smooth, hard, impervious and not readily corrodible. Taps connected with the lavatory shall be so installed as to be discharged at least one inch above the level at which the lavatory will overflow upon the floor.
A deodorizing device approved by the Health Officer shall be utilized in the room containing the facilities and shall be maintained in good working order at all times.
Soap in a suitable dispensing container and approved single service towels and/or hand drier shall be provided.
All such comfort stations and public toilet facilities shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and shall be kept free of obnoxious odors and of infestation by the owner, operator or person so designated.
Any person who violates the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to Chapter 6-103, Enforcement and Penalty, of these Codified Ordinances.
