[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Morris 5-13-2004 by L.L. No. 1-2004. Amendments noted where
applicable.]
A.Â
The Mount Morris Village Board of Trustees finds it necessary to
create the following local law due to the increasing numbers of persons
under the age of 18, as demonstrated by the service call and report
log of the Mount Morris Police Department, finding themselves in situations
that put them at risk of harm or interfering with the public peace,
especially during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday through
Thursday, and 11:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
B.Â
The purpose of this chapter is to better provide security to those
persons who are at risk specifically, those persons who are under
18 years of age being out and about unsupervised during the hours
of 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 p.m.
to 5:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday pose a threat to themselves and/or
the residents of the Village of Mount Morris. This chapter is created
to address the concerns regarding the security and peace of all residents
and their property. The sanctity of the peace of the Village of Mount
Morris is considered paramount.
