Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 200 of the Laws of 1971 (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-141 et seq.), there is hereby created the office of Township Tax Collector.
A. 
Election. The office of Township Tax Collector shall be filled by election as provided by law.
B. 
Term. The term of the Township Tax Collector shall be four years from the first day of January next following his election.
C. 
Duties. The Township Tax Collector shall perform such duties as are assigned from time to time by the Township Committee.
The salary of the Township Tax Collector shall be as fixed by the annual Salary Ordinance of the Township of Alloway,[1] additional fees to be approved by the Township Committee.

A. 
Appointment; term; compensation. The Township Committee may appoint a Deputy Tax Collector, who shall serve for a term of one year from January 1 of each year. The Deputy Tax Collector shall receive such compensation as shall be provided in the annual Salary Ordinance.[1]

B. 
Duties. The Deputy Tax Collector shall assist the Tax Collector in the performance of his duties in such manner and to such extent as shall be directed by the Tax Collector with the prior consent of the Township Committee. During such periods as the Tax Collector is, with the consent of the Township Committee, absent from his duties, the Deputy Tax Collector shall exercise all the powers and perform the duties of the Tax Collector.
