This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Enforcement Officers Law of the Village of Roslyn, New York."
A. 
Establishment. There is hereby established in the Village a department to be known and designated as the "Department of Building and Code Enforcement."
B. 
Department head; deputies. The Superintendent of Buildings shall be the chief officer of the Department of Building and Code Enforcement. There shall be such deputies, assistants and employees as may be authorized by the Board of Trustees and appointed by the Mayor subject to approval of the Board of Trustees.
A. 
The Department of Building and Code Enforcement, through its duly qualified officers and employees, shall enforce the following chapters of this Code and such other state or local law, rule or regulation as may be assigned to this Department by the Board of Trustees or by operation of law:

Chapter 164, Animals.
(2) 
Chapter 179, Business Licensing and Regulation.
(3) 
Chapter 190, Construction Codes, Uniform.
(4) 
Chapter 216, Environmental Quality Review.
(5) 
Chapter 237, Flood Damage Prevention.
(6) 
Chapter 265, Housing Standards.
(7) 
Chapter 340, Peace and Good Order.
(8) 
Chapter 353, Property Maintenance.
(9) 
Chapter 385, Sewers and Sewage Disposal.
(10) 
Chapter 392, Solid Waste.
(11) 
Chapter 406, Streets, Sidewalks and Public Places.
(12) 
Chapter 442, Trees.
(13) 
Chapter 457, Vehicles and Traffic.
(14) 
Chapter 470, Zoning.
B. 
Parking Violation Enforcement Officers.
(1) 
There shall be such number of Parking Violation Enforcement Officers as may be authorized by the Board of Trustees and appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. The Superintendent of Buildings shall supervise such officers in the performance of their duties.
(2) 
The Parking Violation Enforcement Officers shall enforce all nonmoving traffic regulations as established in Chapter 457, Vehicles and Traffic, of this Code and the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York within the Village.
C. 
Whenever the term "enforcement officer" is used throughout this Code, it shall be deemed to mean any of the authorized officers or employees of the Department of Building and Code Enforcement unless otherwise specifically provided.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, any police officer of the Nassau County Police Department shall be authorized to enforce any of the penal provisions of this Code.
In addition to the authority granted to the Department of Building and Code Enforcement, the Superintendent of Public Works and any of his or her deputies or assistants shall have authority to act as enforcement officers under any chapter or chapters which grant authority to such officer or of any other statutes, local laws, rules or regulations as may be assigned to said Department by the Board of Trustees.
Whenever an act or omission of any person shall constitute a violation of more than one section of this Code, the enforcement officer may issue an appearance ticket or take appropriate enforcement action under and pursuant to any, some or all of such sections.
