A. 
No person shall construct or cause any street, sidewalk, curb, curb cut, apron, drain, gutter or combined curb and gutter to be constructed upon any public place without first obtaining a written permit and thereafter complying with the general construction plans on file in the Village office and the specifications hereinafter set forth.
B. 
The Village will not accept the dedication of any street, road, lane, sidewalk or avenue unless a permit, as herein provided, is obtained before construction of any of the above improvements and unless said improvements are constructed in accordance with the aforementioned plans and specifications.
C. 
The application for the permit shall be made in writing to the Department of Building and Code Enforcement and shall specify the location where the proposed street, sidewalk, curb, apron, gutter or combined curb and gutter is to be laid and the length of the proposed construction in linear feet. The application for the permit shall be accompanied by a fee in an amount which shall be set from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
D. 
No person shall cut away, break or remove any existing curb or part thereof without first obtaining a written permit.
E. 
The application for a permit to cut away, break or remove an existing curb or part thereof shall be accompanied by a fee and a cash deposit to insure proper restoration in such amounts as may be determined from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees. Such deposit shall not be returned until restoration of the curb has been approved by the Board of Trustees.
A. 
All sidewalks; curbs; gutters, combined curbs and gutters and aprons, ramps or driveway approaches shall be constructed in accordance with the lines and grades furnished by the Village Engineer and the specifications on file in the office of the Superintendent of Public Works. In the absence of such specifications, the specifications of the Nassau County Department of Public Works shall be deemed sufficient.
B. 
All stakes for lines and grades set by the Village Engineer shall be left undisturbed until after the enforcement officer has inspected and approved the construction.
C. 
All other specifications, including but not limited to width, depth, thickness, slope, grade, foundation, reinforcement, mixture of concrete and protection and curing, shall be as determined from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
D. 
Any engineering expenses incurred by the Village in connection with a permit application shall be the responsibility of the permittee.
E. 
The Superintendent of Buildings is hereby authorized to promulgate standards and conditions for street, sidewalk, drain, curb, gutter and curb cut construction. Such standards and conditions, and any amendments thereto, shall be subject to approval of the Board of Trustees and, once approved, shall be made a part of the administrative standards (or shall be made a part of this Code with the same force and effect as all other laws of the Village). In the absence of such specifications, the specifications of the Nassau County Department of Public Works Rules and Regulations governing such standards shall be deemed sufficient.
All fees for permits and all amounts for deposits or bonds or letters of credit shall be determined from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
The violation of any provision of this chapter shall be punishable as set forth in § 1-8 of this Code.
