The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Westwood does hereby adopt
and implement the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.6 upon the following
terms and conditions:
The
Manager shall meet the requirements for issuance of, and shall have
obtained, a Public Works Management Certificate pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:9-154.6b; and
Upon adoption of the appropriate resolution, any person receiving
tenure of office shall thereafter not be removed from office during
good behavior and efficiency and shall not be removed therefrom for
political or other reasons except for good cause, upon written charges
filed with the Municipal Clerk and after a public, fair and impartial
hearing. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any such person may be retired
when they have attained the age of 70 years.
This article is intended to implement the provisions of N.J.S.A.
40A:9-154.6 and not to create any additional rights or rights inconsistent
therewith.[1]
