As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
That part of the lowest horizontal piping of a drainage system
which receives the discharge from waste and other drainage pipes inside
the walls of the building and conveys it to the building sewer.
The extension from the building drain to the public sewer.
A user of the public sewer system other than municipally
owned facilities, which is exempt from the payment of ad valorem taxes,
including a user which makes payments in lieu of ad valorem taxes.

Oil, fat or grease in a physical state such that it will
separate by gravity from wastewater by treatment in an approved pretreatment
facility.
The animal and vegetable waste resulting from the handling,
preparation, cooking, and serving of foods.
The wastewater from industrial processes.
The ratio of one part to 1,000,000 parts expressed in milligrams
per liter as measured in the metric system.
Any building or structure which is owned by the City of Englewood,
the Englewood Board of Library Trustees, the Englewood Board of Health
or the Board of Education of the City of Englewood and which is used
for governmental purposes.

Any outlet, including storm sewers, into a watercourse, pond,
ditch, lake or other body of surface water or groundwater.
The reciprocal of the logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration,
the concentration being the weight of hydrogen ions, in grams, per
liter of solution.
Wastes from the preparation, cooking, and dispensing of food
that have been shredded to such degree that all particles will be
carried freely under the flow conditions normally prevailing in public
sewers, with no particle greater than 1/2 inch (1.27 centimeters)
in any dimension.
A sewer controlled by the City of Englewood and/or the Bergen
County Sewer Authority.
A pipe or conduit that carries wastewater or drainage water.
The spent water of a community and is synonymous with wastewater.
Any solid waste remaining after the partial or preliminary
treatment of domestic or industrial waste.
Any discharge of water or wastewater which, in concentration
of any given constituent, or in quantity of flow, exceeds for any
period of duration longer than 15 minutes more than five times the
average twenty-four-hour concentration or flow during normal operation.
A drain or sewer for conveying water, groundwater, subsurface
water, or unpolluted water from any source.
Suspended matter that either floats on the surface of, or
is in suspension in, water, wastewater, or other liquids, and which
is removable by laboratory filtering.
Sewage or spent water and shall include liquid and water-carried
wastes from residences and commercial and industrial establishments
and other buildings, but shall not include stormwater or surface water.
The structures, equipment, and processes required to collect,
carry away, and treat wastewater and dispose of effluent.
An arrangement of devices and structures for treating wastewater,
industrial wastes and sludge.
