A.Â
No person shall pursue or exercise any of the following trades or
occupations within the Village of Ravena without having first obtained
a license therefor from the Clerk of the village and paid to the Treasurer
of said village the license fee hereby fixed, as follows:
(1)Â
Auctioneering, except sales by executors or administrators, the sheriff,
constable or referee officiating at a judicial or official sale or
by residents in good faith disposing of their goods: per day, $5.
(2)Â
Soliciting.

(a)Â
Soliciting either on private property or on the public highway,
hawking and peddling except the peddling of meats, fish, fruit and
farm produce by farmers and persons who produce such commodities:
one year, $50; six months, $30; one day, $5.
(b)Â
This provision shall not apply to an honorably discharged soldier,
sailor or marine who is crippled as the result of injuries received
while in the naval or military service of the United States, nor to
the holder of a license granted pursuant to § 32 of the
General Business Law.
(3)Â
Circuses and other traveling performances or amusements given in
tents or other movable structures: $10 per day.
B.Â
The giving of exhibitions, performances or entertainments in the
public streets or places or in any manner not herein otherwise expressly
provided is prohibited.
C.Â
The giving of exhibitions, performances or entertainments for the
benefit of a church, religious body, fraternal organization, fire
department, fire company, school or educational purpose is excepted
from the above license fees.
Any person committing an offense against any of the provisions
of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be punishable for each offense by a fine of not more
than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
The Trustees of the village may, by resolution, fix for a particular
time a different license fee from that above specified.
The trustees of said village may at any time revoke any license
granted under any of the provisions of this chapter upon refunding
such proportional part of the licensed term as is then unexpired.
