Office of elected Auditor abolished. 

There is established in the Borough of Duncannon the office of appointed Auditor, which shall be either a certified public accountant, registered in Pennsylvania, or a firm of certified public accountants so registered.

Before the close of each fiscal year, the Council shall by resolution appoint an independent Auditor to examine the accounting records of the Borough for such fiscal year and to perform the other duties and exercise the powers as conferred by the Borough Code.

The office of elected Borough Auditor is hereby abolished; however, all Borough Auditors now in office shall continue to hold their office during the term for which elected and shall perform all duties of their office, except that they shall not audit, settle or adjust the accounts audited by the independent Auditor appointed by the Borough Council.
