There shall be a District Attorney who shall be elected by the
county at large at a general election, for a term of office in accordance
with law commencing on the first day of January immediately following
his or her election. The District Attorney shall, at the time of his
or her election and at all times during his or her term of office,
be a qualified elector of the county, duly admitted to the practice
of law in this state, and shall devote his or her full working time
to the duties of the office.
The District Attorney shall conduct prosecutions for crimes
and offenses and have and exercise all powers conferred or imposed
upon him or her by law.
