The Police Department of the Borough shall be composed of a Chief of Police and such other members as Council from time to time determines.
All new patrolmen shall attend the county police academy during their probationary periods. Graduation from such academy is mandatory prior to such a patrolman being retained as a full-time police officer. This section has no application to patrolmen who are certified at the time they enter the municipal service.

Police officers are eligible for retirement at age 50, after 25 years of service.
A probationer shall be entitled to all benefits and holidays as provided by Council.
