A code regulating premises on which swine are maintained; establishing minimum standards governing the maintenance and location of such premises; authorizing inspections of such premises; declaring and defining certain acts or conditions on such premises as nuisances; and declaring and fixing penalties for violations thereof, is hereby adopted pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:3-69 to 69.6. A copy of the code is made a part of this chapter without inclusion of the text herein.
The code established and adopted by this article is described and commonly known as the "Maintenance of Swine Code of New Jersey, 1957."
Ten copies of the Maintenance of Swine Code of New Jersey, 1957 have been placed on file in the office of the Town Clerk and will remain on file there for the use and examination of the public.
No person shall maintain more than two swine, as defined in the code, on premises within the boundaries of the Town until a valid license therefor has been issued by the Health Officer.
Licenses required by this article or code may be denied or suspended by the Health Officer for failure to comply with this article or the code. The Health Officer shall afford the person whose license to maintain swine on premises has been denied or suspended an opportunity to be heard in public hearing, and following this to be informed of his decision within two weeks thereafter.
The fee for a license to maintain swine on premises shall be as set forth in § 100-17B.
Licenses issued for the maintenance of swine on premises shall expire annually on December 31 of each year, and application for renewal thereof shall be submitted together with the required fee prior to December 1 of each year.[1]
