There is hereby created the office of Deputy Municipal Clerk.
The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be appointed by the Liberty Township Committee.

The term of office of the Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be one year.
The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall perform in the absence of the Municipal Clerk all those specific duties set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133e in addition to the specific duties to be set forth in a written job description to be entitled "Deputy Municipal Clerk" which may be modified or amended from time to time by the Liberty Township Committee.
Appointment to the office of Deputy Municipal Clerk shall not constitute temporary appointment to the office of Municipal Clerk for the purposes of tenure in any position or office within the Township of Liberty.
The office of Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be compensated at a salary which shall be set forth in the Annual Salary Ordinance in effect for the Township of Liberty.[1]
