No person, firm or corporation shall display any merchandise
within the street or sidewalk line in the Village of Farmingdale unless
a permit be obtained from the Board of Trustees to do so. Such a permit
may be issued in the discretion of the Board of Trustees, subject,
however, to certain conditions and restrictions, which said Board
must attach to the permit, regulating, among other things, the duration
of the permit granted, any ordinance to the contrary notwithstanding.
The Board of Trustees may enact a permit fee which may be changed
from time to time by resolution of the Board.

Notwithstanding anything in this Article
I, the display of merchandise within the street or sidewalk line of the Village of Farmingdale shall only include new and seasonal items. The display of secondhand items, used items, or items in disrepair or out of season is prohibited.

Any person, firm or corporation violating this article shall
be subject to a penalty not exceeding $250 or 15 days' imprisonment,
or both, for each and every offense, and such violation shall constitute
disorderly conduct and the person violating same shall be a disorderly
person.
All permits granted under this article are granted upon the
express condition that the same may be revoked by the Board of Trustees.
This article shall take effect August 20, 1932, or immediately
as to any person or firm served with a copy of this article.
