There is created and established a Department of Public Works for the Borough of Edgewater, to consist of street employees and other employees as may be authorized from time to time by resolution adopted by the Borough Council. The Department shall consist of one Superintendent, three Assistant Supervisors, three Public Works Repairers, one Mechanic, one Mechanic's Helper, nine Laborers, five Pumping Station Attendants and one Recycling Coordinator.[1] A consulting engineer may be employed by the Borough Council for any special work at such compensation as may be agreed upon.

The Department of Public Works shall take charge of and be responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of all streets, parks, public docks, sewers and all other public work in the Borough, subject to the orders and directions of the Borough Council.
The salaries of the employees of the Department of Public Works shall be as are set forth in the current annual Salary Ordinance of the Borough of Edgewater.[1]
