There shall be a permanent commission of 12 City residents known
as the "Resource Recycling Advisory Commission." The Commission shall
serve in an advisory capacity, reporting to the Mayor and Common Council
through the Public Works Director and the Recycling Coordinator the
Commission shall make recommendations to improve waste reduction,
reuse and recycling in the City and assist with the development and
implementation of City-wide resource conservation and sustainability
programs.
A.
The 12
members shall be appointed and serve as follows: four shall serve
for two-year terms; four shall serve for three-year terms; two shall
serve for four-year terms; and two shall serve for five-year terms.
All shall be eligible for reappointment.
B.
The terms
for all Commission members shall commence on April 22. The Commission
shall elect a Chairperson at the first meeting of each year. Commission
members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Common
Council, as terms expire or positions become vacant. Said Commission
should be as broadly representative of the Middletown community as
possible.
